A merry end of the year to everyone! With 2025 wrapping up, it’s time for another update.
These past several months, I’ve been hard at work on The Price of the Wind, the second volume of The Song of Silver. I’m pleased to announce that the book is almost ready and scheduled to release on the first of February 2026, just over a month from now. You can pre-order from your retailer of choice to make sure you get your copy on release day!
The saga of Livy, Fen, Elisaria, and Christian is set to continue throughout 2026. With one more novel left in the trilogy, my primary focus in the coming year will be writing The Aria of Tomorrow and getting it published by the autumn. I’m tentatively eyeing an early October release date, though the novel may arrive sooner depending on how the writing process goes. I always like to give myself a bit of extra wiggle room in case of delays.
Once The Song of Silver has concluded, I’m planning to take a break from my Book of Roses series to write something new. You probably won’t see my next project before the end of 2026, but I’ll likely announce something before the year’s end. This isn’t necessarily the end for the Book of Roses novels, but I do intend to put them on the shelf for a while as I focus on other writing projects.
So, what else will I be up to during 2026? I may be a little light on writing updates, given how much of my time is going to be occupied by The Aria of Tomorrow, but I would like to start doing more posts like my Wizard of Earthsea review from last month. I’ve always enjoyed writing reviews, but I don’t often feel passionate about them unless I come across something that really captivates me. Fortunately I have a few books lined up that I think I’m going to enjoy in the coming year, and I’d love to share some thoughts on them if that ends up being the case.
Aside from that, you can expect a Song of Silver retrospective when the trilogy is complete, along with perhaps a few other behind the scenes morsels about my other books. I’m interested in doing some more craft posts about the writing and editing process, but those are often quite a lot of work that takes away from my hours writing novels. Still, I’m told that blog posts are important for audience engagement, so I’ll try my best to get something out there.
That’s all from me for now. I hope you all found at least a few wonderful moments in 2025, and if you didn’t, I’m sure 2026 has plenty waiting for you!
